Permaculture Design Kit

After experimenting with them I quickly realized the cards needed to be much more durable and heavy to withstand constant use. A few weeks ago I finally reprinted the cards and glued them onto both sides of a piece of chipboard and used leather-worker's arch punches to punch out a set of them. The chipboard gave them a very nice thick, solid, weighty feel and since they are relatively small it would be very difficult to bend them. I also updated the graphics on the back to more adequately visualize a tree/bush canopy of varying sizes. Are you a Permaculture Designer/Student/Teacher?...

I am a very visual person. Abstract concepts are much easier for me to grasp if I can accurately visualize them or they are described to me with pictures or images. While Permaculture draws on fundamental simplicities of nature, its inherit complexity lies in the infinite ways those simplicities interact with each other and the varied ways they can be designed for natural human ecosystems. This project started last summer with the start of a garden in my parents' back yard using Permaculture principles to guide me. I found that as a designer I felt like I was lacking an all important tool.
